The purpose of the Project Officer – Land is to provide that crucial interface between the project vision and the realistic expectations of the farmers and landowners.  Landscape Recovery is all about the farmers, about what changes they can make collectively to create a profound and meaningful improvement for nature in our catchment.   You will be at the heart of this, getting to know the 53 farmers in the project and understanding their issues, needs, ambitions and plans for the future.

Your role, shared with the other job-share position, will be to work with the farmers in the scheme to define what positive changes they will look to make for nature over a 20+ year period, and – with the rest of the team – what payments will be necessary to achieve this.  You will also be expected to play a role in the ecological baselining of the catchment, as well as mapping using a GIS.

Please download the three documents below, as well as the supporting information linked to above, and send a CV and covering letter to jobs@westdorsetwilding.org by March 29th 2024. We expect the covering letter to directly address the person specification, against which you will be scored, and include a personal statement about why you would like the role and what you can bring to it.   More details, and information on the selection and interview process are available in the downloads.  Please put PROJECT OFFICER in the subject heading, send PDF files, and your filenames should start with your surname in CAPS.
